
Registration for the Kinsmen Power Skating & Learn to Sledge Program will take place on Sunday October 19, 2025 and Sunday October 26, 2025 at the Pictou County Wellness Centre. The cost for the season is $20 per child or $30 for 2 or more. All on ice participants require skates and a CSA approved helmet. Please fill out a name tag for your child’s helmet. All kids should wear mittens/gloves. Snow pants or 2 pairs of sweatpants are recommended for first year skaters. Storm day cancellations will be broascast on the New Glasgow Kinsmen Facebook page.
The Kinsmen Club of New Glasgow contributed $10,000.00 towards the new playground at the New Glasgow Academy.

The New Glasgow Kinsmen completed another successful Chicken BBQ on July 4, 2025. The half chicken meal included potato salad, coleslaw and a bread roll for $20. The proceeds from this event supports our Kinsmen Baseball program; a program that helps over 300 kids in various age divisions learn and play baseball in New Glasgow. This year’s event was held at Summer Street Industries.

The Kinsmen Club of New Glasgow will be hosting the 2025 Pictou County Ribfest on August 8, 9, and 10, 2025 at the Pictou County Wellness Centre. This will allow for a larger area, increased parking as well as indoor climate controlled seating for those who find it too hot , or should we have unfavorable weather. The Wellness Center is also on the bus route for those who would require a ride to get there.

The Kin Family of New Glasgow spent over $23,000 bringing gifts and a grocery order to 87 people (selected by Social Services) throughout Pictou County.

Covid, Fiona and food inflation have motivated our club to increase our donation to $5000.

After a Covid related hiatus, the New Glasgow Chicken BBQ returned in 2022. We sold 1200 chicken dinners on our newly acquired gigantic propane fired barbecues and made profit of over $5000.

Over ten Kinsmen volunteered over a 3 day period to construct a playhouse as part of a “Make a Wish Foundation” project to aid a local family.
